oil in coolant reservoir???
After browsing through my engine bay debating whether to clean it up or not, I noticed the top of my passenger side battery and the roof above it were wet. After smelling it, it seems to smell like diesel, but im not positive. It just came to me that it might be coming out of my battery? I dont think this is the case but I will have to check it out. Any other possibilities??
I also happened to look at my coolant reservoir and noticed abotu a 1/2" dark layer on top of the green coolant. Basic properties of oil allow it to float upon a less dense liquid, such as water (coolant) if memory serves me right. I dont know about fuels liquid properties and if it can float. How could oil, or I guess possibly fuel, be getting into my coolant reservoir and what if any damage can it cause?
I can't believe the amount of problems I have had in the last month. All of a sudden they all hit at once. Transmission, glow plugs, GPR, now this. But I still love her

try refilling and running your cooling system with water and see if it is still oily or diesel. You could try skimming some off the top too, with a coolant tester (or turkey baister if you want to sacrifice one) and see if its oil or diesel. When I opened my degass bottle it really smelled of diesel and not oil.
