hi youll need help with my 98 ranger last night the head lights quit working
i have all lights working but no head lights no hi beam also only when i pull the handle for the hi beam work but if i let go the light go off also i change the light switch but did not work.
help

 

Sounds like the steerng colum mounted multifunction switch has a problem.

Seeing as how the lights work in the "flash to pass" mode, suggests to me the fuses, head lamps & wiring are ok, but when you let go of the headlamp dimmer lever, to return to the normal lighting position & they go out & remain out, suggests the multifunction switches' headlamp contacts have a problem.

You might try some plastic safe electrical contact spray into the switch & see if it'll wake it up, but I suspect the multifunction switch may have gone belly up!!!!

Let us know what you find.
