Exclamation Got her running!!!

So I spent all day in the shop after school rebuilding the fuel pump and the carb and got it all back on and tryed to start her up. she had a little bit or a hard time at first so i hook some jumper cables from my moms car to the starter and she started right up...... but I have a few problems i need help with.

First is that the carb leaks like crazy all over the place and i really dont think that is too good and my other problem is that it is like shooting so much gas into the carb, I had the airfilter off and you could see like a water fall of gas going into it.

any help on how to fix any of these would be appreciated.

Oh ya btw the motor is a 1949 flatty 6 with a 847? holly carb

I haven't messed with the sixes, but are rebuild kits available at NAPA? Thats where I get them for my eights. As far as cleaning them, it should be same as the 2bbls.
