super coupe 3.8 in 98 f150

Anyboy ever swap a 4.2 for a supercoupe 3.8? Or use the intake/supercharger on a 4.2? My f150 has a 4.2 that raps like tupac and burns a quart of oil a week.
A used 4.2 is selling for 1600 around here and remans are in the 2500 range so I'm exploring other options. Unfortunately here in MA we have obd II emissions testing so that is really narrowing my options on a cheap swap. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I doubt a SC 3.8 will pass OBD II. Just rebuild the 4.2 you have. I got my 97 f-150 for $150 b/c the engine was bad and I spent $700 on it and rebuilt it myself. The lower intaks gaskets failed and bent #4 rod and dumped coolant in the oil. I had to replace the rod and get the crank turned .010. 20K miles later it still runs like a champ.

A 3.8 SC is OBDI. The 3.8 is a head gasket eating mofo. I know first hand. I have a '92 Cougar N/A 3.8 that I did the right side head gasket on in Sep '05.

In April this year another one let go. I'm going to replace the heads & gaskets in the spring so I can drive it agin but I'm piecing everthing together to do a V8 swap.
