87 5.0 into 87 ranger 2wd

I have an 87 crown vtc with a low miles 5.0
I can get a nice 87 ranger extended cab with a blown 2.9
Can the 5.0 efi be used by useing the brains from the CrVic
and plugging it into the wireing of the ranger?
wouldnt that be sweet
Has to be able to pass emissions
Thanks
GTW

No it isn't going to be plug an play, sorry. You have the crown vic, you will have to transplant the crown vic stuff into the Ranger. As far as emissions you will be ok if you retain all the equilivant emissions of the Ranger with the V8 and you are ok with the same year or newer engine part. Being a 2wd it will be a pretty easy swap.
