that is my entire outlook on life...one day i might start to try and understand autos a bit better because i am a mechanic and very few big rigs use autos, the only company that ive seen run them is Watt & Stewart Commodities (Alberta Canada and Texas U.S.), they used them in their 07-08? trucks and now are back to manual cause they got fed up with the autos

what is this np435 with gear vendor OD? i was thinkin zf when i find one but i know of many old trucks locally with on np435 trannys sitting there for the taking but they are only 4 speed, i need OD and if putting OD in an np435 is cheaper than a zf thats the way ill go cause the np's are tougher, anyone got the ratios of the two for comparison? thanks

I'm following in your footsteps.
My buddy just bought a '69 F100, 3 on the tree with that
centrifugal OD unit. Pretty cool setup.
Lately, we've been crawling around under that thing, getting to know it.

Check out the gear vendor website and read all about them.

http://www.gearvendors.com/

You'll get the sense that the company that makes them are really, really proud of them. But then, I guess they have a right to be. Look at how much they cost though, and you'll realize that they are REALLY, REALLY proud of them. Even on Evilbay they go for quite a bit.

Another good option for adding overdrive to an old four speed gearbox is the Ranger Torque Splitter made by Advance Adaptors.

http://advanceadapters.com/category/...derdrives.html

And the price is about half of a gear vendor unit. And it can be used in ANY gear including 4 wheel drive. There are pluses and minuses to both units.

i like the looks of that and that would make a 4 speed an 8 speed right, i might look into this with the np435, this would also give you a granny gear too...hmmm google here i come thank you man

You're welcome and yeah it would. I read one writeup somewhere of a guy doing an install of one into a dentside F-100 with a 300. I know I wouldn't mind having one. You could buy this instead of a Gear Vendor unit and then still have enough money left over for a down payment for a house

yeah bulletproof is a good word for them, but instead of advertising them as trucks ford should have advertised them as tanks, more suitable

From what i hear it was a funnel cloud spotted but never touched down out by red deer somewhere to the east of town. it was windy as hell out here that night, it took my patio set umbrella an put it in my neighbors yard.
