I found his story amusing too. And I'm not discounting the fact that you can severely overload your truck and get away with it if you're careful. Call that being smart enough to survive your own stupidity maybe LOL. I just think the idea of cramming a bunch of calves in a truck bed like sardines is pretty funny and worth a few jokes.
Personally, with the price of gas today. I don't see why they don't just tie the cows to the front bumper and make them pull the truck rather than the other way around.

My buddy said his dad used to haul two or three calves in his 89 escort. One time they decided the back seat was a latrine. Thereafter it was known as the ****scort. 212k and the engine blew. Good cars though
It took a rock to come through your non exsistant floor board and knock out your back window to park your truck.
hahaha thats awesome...thats usually how they wind up rusted out before dead
i could see 8 cows in an 8 foot bed especially in mexico they are good at tetris, i mean REALLY good LOL....in southern alberta you would not believe the amount of old 80-96 f150 long beds i see with big water tanks in the back, when they pull out of the town water station the hitch us usually no more than 3" off the ground, truck doesnt even sound like its working?

I just got my L6 a week and a half ago, but I'm very surprised by the torque it has. The Pastors where I go to church live up a drive way that's really bad with ruts and it's pretty steep last friday I was going up there to mow for them, I put it in low range and first gear and idled up the whole hill with out touching the throttle.
I'm making room in my siggy for that'un. If my internet co-ops.

Nah, you had to touch the throttle.
I can't idle up any hill. However, I don't have to give it much fuel. 1,000 RPM moves my 4,000 lb rig up any hill. Kinda gives me a woody.

Isn't your truck a 2 wheel drive auto. To idle up the hill I had to put it in 4low and first gear. I can't idle up the hill in high range, but it doesn't take me hammering on the throttle like my ranger did. That thing was a turd and a half.
An automatic 'idling' up a hill is more about what RPM the throttle is set at than anything. It will have to be enough for the torque converter to engage somewhat.
BTW, I think first gear in an NP435 is 6.69:1. 6.68 or 6.69:1, never can remember. It's nearly the same as the rear gear ratio for my 1950 Ford 8N.. 6.66:1 or 6.68:1.

"Custom Exhaust" and leaf spring overloads
31x10.50 15" Nothing special, but it's a damn good truck.
