nov 17th meet?

ok new meet thread. is it good for every one to meet on the 17 of nov it is the week before turkey day.i was talking with a few members and we were thinking about doing a lake side meet but i don't know the area so well. so rangergurl will have to be the one to set a good place. i don't know if they have grills out there or if we would need to bring our own. also we would need to think about food and drinks. if we could get each person to bring one thing, it should set us up. i will need some input on this to make it run smooth. so lets set it up now.

yea bring own. actually i have one i can bring. anywhere out there is good as long as it's before dark. all we need as far as food is hotdogs and hamburgers and maybe chips. and then drinks, i say bring your own especially if you want alcohol.

I'm home oct 30 thru Nov 12. Sat Nov 10 is my daughters birthday party. I come back home Nov 27 thru Dec 11.

What Lake are we planning to meet at?

I was hoping for camping space. I would pull my camper down so my Wife and kids could come.

I like the idea of camping, also. Most State Parks in LA have campgrounds. Some of them have cabins for rent for those that want to stay overnight but don't like to camp.

bayu signet is the only state park i know of in south la. we could try that no? i would say we could meet the 9th and 10th of nov but i have to work that weekend

. so some one kick some info around and we'll see if we can get somthing started

I hope that we can continue these meets. I look forward to when we have 20 to 50 or more people show up. Maybe after the first of the year we can set up something like Texas just put on. we will just have to come up with a place to have it. So I am up for Ideas if we put time and thought into this we can make it work.

Fontainbleau State Park is in Mandeville. It has a campground and cabins for rent. Of course, you can also meet everyone and go home - not spend the night if you choose.

Fairview Riverside State Park is also in Mandeville and Tickfaw State Park is near Ponchatoula. They have campgrounds, but they don't have cabins.

For a larger, possibly State-wide meet, Chicot State Park is centrally located just north of Ville Platte. It is the largest State Park in LA. It has campgrounds and cabins for rent.

wow 7.3 has all the info. now with all that posted lets get something going. what we need to think about is stuff to make people want to stay for a little bit. maybe like a la truck show and shine plaque. stuff like that. any takers???

We need a sponsor for an event. I wonder if our sponsor has to be registered FTE vender or if we can get sponsors localy? I really want to have more and bigger events.
