well, with stock injectors you can only expect about 80-90hp over stock out of any chip or tuner because that's about all the fuel AA single shots will flow. from what ive heard, tony has been around for a long time and makes a pretty flawless product. ive had mine for about 15k miles and havent had a single problem with it. so long as you have atleast a pyrometer gauge in your truck to monitor ur egt's i dont think the chip wil mess up your truck. hope this helps

I've been on here a while and there is alot of very intelligent people on here that run the wildman chip! For that reason alone I believe in his product and when I get the money I will definetly have one. I don't know what you have for a truck but anytime you do significant horsepower upgrades you are risking damage unless all the preventitve steps are taken ie. tranny upgrade, gauges etc.

Both Tony Wildman and Jody Tipton are pros at tuning the 7.3. This is what they do and they are good at it. Edge, superchips ect all make a mass produced product that works with all the 94.5-03 7.3s. Wildman or dp tiner make the engine run as smooth as stock but when you press the "go" pedal you know there is a difference. I highly recomend one of these chips as well as gauges and about $200 worth of exhaust and intake upgrades (new down pipe $150, 6637 air filter $40, gut the cat $free). I actually noticed about a 1-2 mpg increase in daily driving and I was driving a lot harder than before

Right now you truck is making about 180hp at the wheels.
After these few upgrades you can see up to 250-260hp. It might not seem like much but it makes a big difference towing, all those hills you used to not look forward to are now kinda fun to see what you truck can do.

97's are rated 225 at the flywheel. If you want to really open it its takes injectors and bigger oil.

I have read others on different forum say that DP's 40 & 60 hp tunes feel more impressive than others 80 options with all other things unchanged.

I think that I read somewhere that the auto tranny obsorbs approx. 50 hp and the manuel not quite that much. If I recall I think that it may have been c00nhunter that came up with those figures. If it wasn't him I'm sure he will let me know chop chop.

An actual chip that plugs into the PCM will respond better than a programmer. Plus you dont get that touchy pedal feel as with programmers.

2 stroke man please read up on k&n filters on diesel motors.
Did you change out the downpipe whenever you took the muffler off?
I would bet your motor is putting out 225-230 with the superchip. Better programming will get you a couple more pounds of boost as well as a smoother running engine.

Pretty widely accepted that you lose 10-15% off the flywheel being consumed to make drivetrain work.

E4's take up at least 50, it should be more like 75-80, similar to a c-6 trans power usage
