Any Good Junkyards?
A couple friends and I are looking to go junkyard hopping, I was wondering are there any good junkyards in New Ulm or near Mankato MN? Thanks for any info. I am looking for a junkyard I can walk into. My one friend was looking in the cities but they wouldn't let u walk in???? Never heard of that before. Anyways, we are back from the cities and now are looking for some junkyards close to home. Thanks guys for any info again.

Hmm well to name a few Viking Auto salvage(1985 - present i believe), U-pull are parts might have that mirror & theres AAA auto parts right next to U-pull in Rosemount. As for that 2000 Lesabre headlight switch id actually just go to a auto parts store that way its new. But for yards down by you I wouldnt know. I have more yards I go to but they aren't any farther down than Rosemount sorry.

There's one North of Willmar called Rohner's that has a lot of older parts. They used to let you go through the yard and find stuff, but that changed a few years ago.
There's one by New London called Windy Hill. They still let you walk through the yard. Was there looking for steel rims for a Dart. Found a couple of Slicks (61-66 f100) that had a few good parts on them. They cleaned up a lot of the older "junk" a couple of years ago. Didn't see too many 73-79 Ford trucks.

www.car-parts.com its a website that has all the yards in the usa that inventory there stuff on it.. just type in what your looking for and it will show who has it .. and theres this site
http://www.autorecyclersmn.net/memberlisting.htm
thats a listing of all the yards that are registerd..
and
http://www.usedpartscentral.com/search_minnesota.htm
http://www.yardquest.com/location_Mi...unk_yards.aspx
thers also a reason that most of the yards dont let ya just walkin anymore.. Bout 4 or 5 years back a guy was out in a yard pulling parts and got the bright idea that he wanted parts off of a car that was stacked two high.. we'll as the law suit went he climbed into the top car to get something and while in there it fell off and hurt the guy pretty bad.. thats what I was told buy the local yard on why... they have a you pull it section but you have to sing a sheet saying there not liagable and stuff and they have all the cars siting on railroad ties .. they also say if you need anything underneith the car/truck that they have to bring out the skid loader and pull it for you in the shop.( at a cost of course)
