Hydraulic Fitting Help "pump in tank"
Im going to be moving my pump into my fuel tank and im having trouble finding fittings. I need to go from a 10x1 metric, to a bulkhead, then to 3/8 hose. I do have a 37deg flaring tool but I cant seem to find anything to meet up to the 10x1 metric at the pump im using. Any ideas would be great. I have looked on the jegs website and came up with these P/Ns from there site. But it seem like the whole set up would be too long.

I don't really know if it was all that necessary, but it gave me a little piece of mind to know that it was there.
I don't know if the 250-350 trucks have that third outlet or not. I do know that my tank is steel and yours is plastic.
Anyway, please let me know how you like this mod.
I think it kicks some serious a$$ compared to the Ford design and would like to hear from you about it as well, even if you don't think it was worth it.

What I did with mine was drill out the check valve on the pump so it was a nice big tube, then welded a piece of steel pipe to it, then welded that whole thing to the pickup tube.
The pickup tube was cut at a very precise point to make it the perfect length to reach down to within 1/8" of the bottom of the tank, but not quite enough to touch. I wanted more fuel volume than those little gaps would provide on the screen, so I lifted it off the floor a tiny bit.
Also, if it's not too late, take another look at the pictures in my gallery. It's a super-simple design, using that VW pump. Just slide the pickup screen over the end of the pump and attach the outlet to the pickup tube. Run the wiring and it's done.
Yeah the pump is rated for gasoline, but they go for a LLOOOONNNNGGGG time before they give up.

Well its all finished and everything went together nice and smooth. What a difference in top end power, it dosent just flaten out like it used to. Other then that fuel pressure is at about 75psi, and drops to about 65 when WOT. I never shimmed my FPR so the pump sure is workering much better then the stock one ever could. I did run 30R07 hose from the sending unit to where the last quick disconnect would be before the fuel bowl. All in all it was well worth the work for this mod, not that it was hard just getting everthing how I wanted it. Last but not least a big thanks to Kwikkordead for coming up with this idea, and helping with my questions.
