Exclamation 1997 3.8 Windstar

I have had a problem with code p0174 for a few months it. I changed the cam position sensor , still no change. I found a ignition wire burned so I replace it and also the coil, I had a spare one. The engine light went off most of the summer....it back again the van mostly sputters in traffic or when standing at a stop, sometimes at the first of accerelation. It was interesting that someone suggested that it could be a intake gasket problem. Is there any way to test this. I work in the parts buisness and we sell lots of the plastic intakes for
Fords. Any input would be great!!

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Check the PCV hose elbows, they are known to crack and leak and the power brake booster vacuum line. Mine was really soft down by the intake manifold. You might also clean the MAF sensor.
