NumberDummy, I don't expect anything better from you seeing how your from Cally, the liberal capitol of the world, they should be thier own country ha ha.
Smiggs, seeings your from Canada, you have no dog in this fight, so it's all good.
It sure is strange that I have to spend 90% of time defending fords on a ford truck site, there has to be others out there that love thier fords and wouldn't buy japanese. If not, thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

I don't have anything against the japanese building cars over here, just the americans that buy them.
For God's sake man, get some pride, buy american ha ha. I was in the air force also, 823rd Red Horse out of Hurlburt Fld in Fla. If I had it to do over again I would still be there.
This sounds about right coming from you. So now you don't hate the Japanese, you have something against your fellow countrymen and women who buy Japanese products.
You sure paint a clouded picture of having "pride".

Actually, do a bit of research and see who the US trades with the most. My "dog" is just as strong in this fight. ( ask Vick )

And your doing such a good job in your defence. Hell, I like my Fords, ( l draw the line at loving a bunch of steel ) but I'm not going to be stupidly blinded by one company when there are choices out there. Isn't that why you bought your Jeep?

I've allways had an old jeep of some kind or another, it's more of a hobby. Jeeps are just over sized atv's. If ford would bring back the bronco, I wouldn't need to play with jeeps. It's hard to find a real oof/road machine these days, 4x4's are made for soccer mom's. I just say what a lot of people think, but some one needs to stand up. Insults don't bother me, I have truth on my side. I've never been anti-japanese, just pro-american, there's a difference. Yep, can't believe my own countrymen would sell us out. However, I come to this site to find refuge from the constant pounding of hearing about toyota. It's a shame that you can't even escape it on a ford truck site. I'm starting to hate toyota with a passion. I will speak out for ford every chance I get, as well as blast toyota, so get use to it. We need to make a stand for our own auto industry while we still have one.

I agree with you 100% there. Except for the jeep part because I'm not to into offroading

If your sick of hearing about it, why bring it up in the first place?
And this isn't an isolated case, so I'm used to it.

My wife really liked the MKX when she sat in it at the car show. They are offering better deals here but, not great deals on them here. Pretty good sellers. A friend of mine just got is wife a super loaded Edge. They love it. Already got a speeding ticket though.
My wife currently has an '05 Lexus ES 330. While she likes the MKX, the value may still be in a Lexus. At least she will look at the Lincoln. Probably make a move sometime in the spring.

Wendell...California was once the most conservative state in the Union. This all changed in the 1960's. The change came from all the liberals moving here from someplace else. While San Francisco and most of Los Angeles is liberal, the bulk of the state is still conservative/moderate Republican. California's GNP is one of the top 10 in the world!
How many leftwing liberals (besides Al Gore and Michael Moore) are NRA Life Members? How many of these ppl are gun collectors?
If you don't like Americans who buy Japanese products, you must not like too many ppl, including yourself. Where was your: computer, printer/copier, stereo, television, digital camera, kitchen utensils, cell phone, yadda yadda yadda made? Sadly, not in the US of A. When I bought a new truck, I didn't even bother looking at a Dodge, and the (previous and current) Toyota Tundra's interiors are cramped. So the choice was the old tech GM products (some made in Canada or Mexico), or a Titan, which btw..is made in Mississippi.
The first company to go Global was Ford Motor Company. From the 19 teens thru the 1920's, Henry built assembly plants worldwide to build Model T's. Several of those plants are still operating today in Dagenham, England and Cologne, Germany.
btw: I've been to Wal-Mart exactly once. I try buying US made products whenever possible...and that ain't easy today.

My point too, Wendell.
When I was in Maine several yrs ago, my wife wanted to go to L.L. Bean, who sells speciality clothing. I was amazed..Made in China this, Made in China that...and if it wasn't China, it was from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan.
My wife was in Italy last yr, she brought me back a shirt and hat = Made in China. She was also in Alaska, and brought me back a "I'm a big Moose" t-shirt = Made in China.
Sickening.

Yep, China is the new Japan. Japan is now a modern country who's people don't work for free anymore so they needed a 3rd world country. Not that China is 3rd world, but alot of thier people live like they are. Now we have all these recalls because China doesn't share our standards, or just doesn't care, whichever. I would like to keep some of our industry at home, so I buy american where and when I can. Thats at my ford dealer, cause it sure isn't at walmart. I know people think I hate Japan, thats so not true, I just love america and all she stands for. I was raised on ford money as we have close ties to ford, so it's more important to us who depend on ford in this area as well as CM and chrysler. The Cleveland area is like a mini Detroit,

Here's something else to consider about Japan...and Germany.
After WWII, the Marshall Plan helped the two countries to rebuild. Where did the money come from? Guess! So by the mid 1950's, Toyotas, Datsuns, VW's, Mercedes etc, and all matter of other goods are flowing from these brand new factories..direct to US shores.
Meanwhile, back in the US of A, our factories took a terrible beating building all the war supplies needed to defeat those two countries. In many cases the un-necessary equipment was placed outside and rusted away. So now it's 1946, our factories are in shambles, the equipment is ruined, but the Marshall Plan didn't rebuild OUR factories, and neither did the US Government.
Those new Japanese and German factories gave both countries a big (read-unfair) advantage...still being felt today.
We also poured billions into China during and shortly after WWII. China had NO aviation industry before WWII, but the US established CAAMCO = The China America Aviation Company to not only build aircraft, but to train pilots. Some of those very same Chinese pilots flew against us during the Korean War.
btw: Of the gazillions of dollars of US funds loaned, and equipment given to the Allies during WWII, the ONLY country to repay their war debts was Canada.

So by this logic, you are employing "furrin" workers that build that transmission and that money for the controlling interest that Ford has had to come from somewhere. Maybe money from the US?
So it's fine for Ford ( because they are a US company ) to set up shop and employ people overseas to build parts but it's wrong for a Japanese company to set up shop in the US and provide jobs.
Oh right, we all know that since the headquarters for Ford is in the US, ALL the money stays here.......
So who pays the "furrin" workers?
Perhaps you should take a class on critical thinking, the concept has obviously escaped you.
I'm not coming to the defense of the Japanese, I'm merely pointing out that Ford has used Japanese made parts for decades.
I'm very fond of certain Ford cars and trucks, but the companies record as far as caring for their customers STINKS, and has since the 1970's.
Exploding Pinto gas tanks...Ford did nothing till the government forced them to.
Exploding gas tanks on Crown Vics, Lincoln Town Cars and Mercury Grand Marquis. The test mules for this trio were up and running in 1976, during the Pinto fiasco. The same fix Ford used on Pinto's is being used on these cars. A plastic shield in front of the tank, and a longer filler neck.
Defective drag links on Rangers/Bronco II's led to a Class Action law suit, because Ford did nothing.
The use of C rated (instead of D rated) Firestone tires on Explorers to save a buck, then lowering the suggested PSI rating to make the ride more comfortable. Y'all know where that led.
The on-going cruise control switch fiasco.
Dizzy mounted ignition modules...Ford after nearly 15 years of saying there was nothing wrong with them (They were a POS!!) was forced by the government to recall 5 million vehicles several years ago to replace them.
Wendell, I like my two 1963 Galaxies and my 1965 pickup, but my daily driver is a Nissan Titan. I also have a 2004 Lariat, but it's in New Mexico being driven by my nephew. I had 5 warranty claims on this truck in 17,000 miles (the trans failed the first week). My previous 6 new Ford trucks and 2 new cars had none.
You forgot spark plugs blowing out of the modular motors!
