Exclamation What replacement coils to use?

I have a 2003 F150 with a misfire on a couple of cylinders. I plan on replaceing the coils and plugs. However I am at a loss.....I don't klnow which brand of coils to replace....MSD $48.00, Accel $28.00, ford $66.00, summit $34.00, jacobs electronics $25.00

Thing is that I want the coil to last longer so that is why I am debating using Ford coils again.

Any info would be help!

Depends on how long you are planning on keeping it. If your going to keep it forever, then it might be a good idea to get ford coils. But im sure the MSD and Accel coils are good too, they normally have great products. You also might try to replace just the coil boots.

Id stick with Motorcraft coils. My truck has 165,600 miles on it and 7 out of 8 coils are original.

There is no way to predict coil life.
OEM are made to standards of acceptance and are replaced under warrenty until it runs out. So they enjoy a protection/reputation of sorts.
After warrenty, people go looking for cheaper coils.
What's your pleasure?

Yea, and then after you buy aftermarket coils you bring it to the dealer out of frustration because it didn't fix it. I see if every week..... Go OEM!

We use MSD's at my shop and they seem ok. But nothing like OEM coils.

i'm just saying they had a lifetime warranty on the coils nothing bad about OEM ,,,, except,,,,NO LIFETIME WARRANTY!!! most places dont offer any warranty on electrical parts let alone a lifetime warranty i dont know about you but i would rather pay for something one time! i do appreiceate your job loyalty though

You can pay for part 1 time, but how much labor and screwing around are you going to save everytime a coil goes bad. Lifetime warranty parts are very strict on what they cover and what they don't. I think if everyone else offers limited warranty, and then a company offers lifetime, it is just a marketing scam to get you to buy their product. I would read the warranty description first.
