Ok, I got the flex exhaust hose issue resolved with the dealer NOT taking it under the extended warranty. Vehicle only has 51,000 miles with the trans fluid being changed twice in that time frame. The car now seems to have absolutely no power taking off from a stand still. Seems like the trans is starting off in second gear as it takes forever to get up to speed even though the engine rpms are at around 4000 or greater. Has anyone had any problems with this trans? The engine is the 4 cyl gas one. My wife is scared to drive this vehicle now as pulling onto highways, the car can not get up to speed untill you reach a 1/2 mile or greater. Trans fluid is clean and does not smell burned.

Any help would be appreciated. Dealer looked at the vehicle last week and said there was no problem. The lack of power issue seems to have gotten worse since then also.

 

Catalytic converters plugged?

 

Well, we just got a call from the dealer and from what the tech says, BOTH catalytic converters are clogged. One is melted internally. WTF!?!??!? What would cause that to happen? My wife uses 87 octane gas, I put in 5W-20 oil, everything by the book. Is the engine going to self destruct that it is making too hot of an emission gas? The coolant temp is normal. This is absolutely blowing my mind.Is this a common problem for this vehicle also?
