No, I pulled the Top big hose, and maybe the top small hose (cant remember off of the radiator only and bent them out of the way, you will lose a little coolant, maybe a gallon. loosen the fan, to the point where you no longer need a tool to turn it. Then remove the top two 10mm or 8mm bolts (again cant remember, but actually I think they are 8mm) from the fan shroud, the finish unscrewing the fan, and pull the fan and shroud out together. There are not bottom bolts on the shroud just top ones.

I cut mine in half, top to bottom. When I put it back together I use the bolts and some wire ties. Makes life easier.

Thanks guys those are great suggestions. All I want to do is pull the fan and install electrics. Sure didn't want to pull that rad.

I cut mine with a sawzall and never looked backed. Never a problem with temp and I tow 15k on a regular basis. If I may, why electrics? Are you getting too hot? If so you have a bigger problem than electric fans can solve.

Thanks sneal, but I am not running hot I just want to eliminate the clutch fan & free those ponies up for other useful purposes.

Secondly, that clutch has been going round and round for over 10 years and I don't want to be in the boonies if and when it should decide to take a dump.

I kinda did like what they said. I discconected the radiator hose and just plugged it with something so I didn't lose my fluid. Once the hose was out of the way I shimmied it out with the fan and shroud all at once. Really wasn't that bad. I may have moved the belt out of the way for more manuevering. Good luck
