Had a whole day off....

Started getting the frame boxed in... this was a bit time consuming. The next sections will go easier as the frame channel doesn't taper.

I will have to work this piece in on the passenger side to give room for the exhaust to pass by....

Ok so apparently some small minded people dont understand that the truck in this signature is a combination of many sarcasims. Please quit being stupid and study up before you run your mouth about it.

I had to take a break from frame and suspension work... so I worked on the timing gear cover and the clutch master cylinder actuating rod....

It really was designed to access a adjustable timing gear, but I wanted something to go in place of the oil fill tube as I will be adding oil fill to the valve cover. And it gives me more room for when I make timing changes with the stock gear....

Scored!

Picked this NP273F up for $100.... I'm going to take the output shaft, tailhousing and fixed yoke and see if it all fits in my NP271D for a slip yoke eliminator upgrade?

Thanks!

Updates....

I had to send the coils back to FOA to have 90* added to the reservoir attachment. As soon as they return I will be ready to move forward on it.

The motor is almost complete. I should be pre-lubing her this week, then finish the injection pump to fuel supply lines. I will be using a single turbo for now, as it looks like I'm going to have to be a bit creative to fit the twins.

I'm in the process of re-doing (3rd time) my clutch pedal. I like the feel and the ratio seems to be good, just not liking the overall look so I'm using another pedal from a Dodge application.

Boxing the frame has been a bit time consuming... mainly because I'm working around motor, trans, etc. I'm almost done with the difficult section.

On a major search for a radiator.... trying not to have to spend the big cash on a custom fit. Looking to use a aluminum crossflow, maybe with a dual pass so I'm keeping an eye on ebay and craigslist for a deal.

Thats about it...

I haven't tried it for fit yet, but I have a radiator from an '85 F250 6.9 IDI that I'm hoping to use for my swap. Rough measurements have it at 30" tall X 31.4 wide at the core, and 34" wide total to each side of the mounting brackets. Upper hose fitting is pass. side so that matches up well, lower is just to the driver's side of center so I'll need to snake an adapter over to that side around the bottom of the radiator.

It's a little wide at the bottom where it has to fit between the frame horns so I'll need to notch them, figure I'll box them in, maybe with C-channel. It's also going to be a bit wide up top...I have the core support from the same truck, I may just cut it up and combine it with the original core support (or my spare one, more probably.) Don't know if you'd consider this a feasible solution for you as well, but I think I can make it work...

1 thing that I forgot to mention is to remember to think of an intercooler if you plan on using one. You need to find a radiator "narrow" enough that an IC will fit "around" it.

If I remember right the distance from inside to inside of the tubes on my stupid duty IC was like 30"

Good point...I didn't measure that as it's in storage with the engine right now...

Completed the first section of frame boxing on the passenger side. Had to make clearance for 5" exhaust for the future twin setup.

Drill pin kit?
I've been considering a fluid damper on my mostly stock engine, as mine appears to be bulging the rubber out of the groove. You are obviously planning on some serious torque here, any reason you chose this one?

killer build
