It looks pretty centered and it should be offset half the thickness of the pushrod.
Could ya explain that a little more.....

Yes.... I layed it all out on the garage floor with a paint pen to determine how much swing was available with a full stroke.... thats why I need to put a peddle stop in to avoid bottoming the M/C.

I know the clutch peddle is higher at this point... I would have to done something different to make it otherwise at the mounting point. So four things came to mind.... live with it, adjust the brake peddle to match, cut the M/C rod end off and thread for a heim (shorter length overall) or bend the lower portion of the peddle back. I will decide when I get it all mounted... along with the seat.
Out of all these options.... moving the brake may be the way I choose as I think the peddles being closer to the driver without eating the steering wheel will be better for my wife! Ya.... got to make it safe for the wife as she has been a trooper on this project and has been looking forward to driving it some day.
If the left side of the pedal is centered on the M/C, the pushrod will angle to the left (looking top down).
To keep the pushrod in alignment with the M/C, the pushrod attachment point on the pedal needs to be to the right by half the thickness (dia.) of the pushrod.
Ok, I did a quick and dirty drawing... NO SCALE!
The left image has the pedals left side in align with the M/C center, the right has the pedal offset half the thickness (dia.) of the pushrod.
I will be removing this image from my album in a few weeks to keep album clutter under control. Of course unless asked not to.

Yup, I understand the lady thing...
That is really super that she has been a trooper and looks forward to driving it. Sure makes life more enjoyable when they are beside you!
At least yours will drive a manual trans. I keep trying to get Suzy to learn and she doesn't want to mess with it. Oh well - that just keeps her from driving 4 of my 5 cars

Chasetruck, Try getting her to TRY in a vehicle that is not connected to your heart!
My, Ol'lady will not try the race cars because shes feels, if she hurts them, she hurts me!
My ol'lady is pretty good with a stick, she can double clutch as well as sync shift (clutch less).
She used to pull a boat around when she was competition skiing.
When my son and I got back with the '86 it was about 03:30 am... She took it out for a drive with the Saturn on the U-haul trailer, in her PJs...
She has also driven my '78 KW longnose w/48 ft flatbed loaded grossed!
I say all this because my ol'lady is a city slicker, not a country girl and has NO CLUE as to anything mechanical, Doesn't even know what a Crescent Wrench is!
I know Suzy is the same way in that she doesn't want to "hurt" me or my toys, but she is also just lazy and doesn't care. I had her driving the Taco out in the desert (hubs locked and in 4 high in the dirt makes it easier to learn) but she wasn't super into it.
She loves go kart racing (no shifter karts of course) with me, but driving aside from that is more of a chore to her - and driving an auto tranny makes that "chore" a bit less work
I think it would be cool if she could drag a trailer, double clutch, etc. like your wife, but I doubt she ever will.
She puts up with my truck stuff and tool fetish, plus she is asking me to teach her to weld, so that's good enough for me

Hey Steven,
Another thing we have in common...... I raced 80cc gearbox (TrackMagic w/Suzuki) back in the mid 90's, track champ in 1995 and then lost interest over the whole thing over the "points race" .... took the fun out of just racing.
Thats something I've never been able to do, get my ol'lady out in the shop! (Excluding now, we are living in it, house burnt)
The only time I can get her to hang out in the shop is on a winning night... She'll come hang with the gang and party!
-Enjoy
fh : )_~
Suzy's not a huge fan of spending as much time in the shop as we do, but she knows that if she wants to see me as much as she likes - part of that time will be spent in the shop.
I think her wanting to weld is a way of spending more time together. Works for me

Mark
I don't race competatively - although that would be a blast. We are lucky enough to have a local "pay as you go" type track here that runs the electric motor carts.
They aren't as fast as the real carts, but they go pretty dang good for a walk up and drive type place.
It's a fun "date night" for sure, but Suzy gets bummed if we go with my buddies and she can't beat any of them. I just tell her "that means we need to come here and practice more"

Crud.... I was just getting ready to mount closer to the tank as that was the input from CompD and Cummins forums.... they were saying that it is a pusher pump... maybe I just need to call PurFlo Technologies. You would think that it would be addressed in the instructions?
My question for you is what are your expectations for this project as far as fuel mileage or what you rig is being designed to do. I just started doing a 1970 crewcab cummins/automatic build as we speak. For my set up I started building up the frame/ boxing in the frame front to rear, build up crossmembers for eng/tranny and related componets. Your build is awesome and your fab skills kick azz. I"ll be doing a air bag link system on mine frt/rear. Did a frt air bag system many yrs ago and very pleased with the ride quality and reliability. Love the photo's and keep up the good work. Might do mine in a blue. Was thinking red but you got that covered and I need to do something different. I'll be doing mine like offroad design crew cab build. Theirs is a chevy but you'll understand once you see their Idea of a crewcab build, its nice and reliable. Watched it run during the 2009 ultimate adventure wyoming leg. They used ford axles and chevy motor and many other parts to make it work. Cool set up to check out and you can't see all the goodies inside and around this truck. Nice guys also. Catch you later and I'll check in later as things progress.

Needed something to pack the kids into and go camping. Will be pulling a 20-25 ft trailer eventually. Gas mileage should be alright if I keep my foot out of it. Haul the dirt bikes into the hills. Take the kids BMX racing. Hit some dyno, pulling and drag racing events as they come.... and whatever else one does with 650 HP?
After getting the head on I noticed that a few of the valve seals were lifted and wasnt sure why.....
This is what they looked like...
And this appears to be the problem....
I tried many different approaches to getting these on without causing this kind of damage. The thing that worked the best was some synthetic grease that I had combined with working them on and off a couple times. If I could do this all again, I would clean up the valve guide taper that the seal slides over... the edges must be a little sharp.
