It was a little tricky holding the dual discs with one hand and propping the pressure plate up with the other..... sure could have used a third hand, but I don't suppose that would have went over any better with the wife!
Got the fith gear nut all torqued today.... hit her with 300ft/lbs and red locktite, cranked the set screws and peened the lip of the nut into the slot in the shaft. So we will see how this works out... if it comes loose then I'll put a torgue king shaft in it. Cast iron tail housing all buttoned up....
Also got some work done on the lower coilover mounts.....
man i would love to take my truck down to the point where there is NOTHING in it and start over. so i bet you covered it but what are you doing for new wireing?

Thinking the Government stimulus plan is working is like thinking that taking water form the deep end of a pool and dumping it in the shallow end will raise the water level of the pool.

Did a quick tape measure before sliding her in.... something like 7.00" to pilot bearing and the trans had around 6.750" stick out not including the pilot shaft... about another 1" there....

I have a (think it is) 18 circuit EZ-Wire kit ready to go....
Rockin, I've been following this thread and am really impressed with what your doing. I have plans in the future to do my Bronco over and convert it to diesel. A Cummins warehouse and shop is right around the corner from me along with Jasper, when I have enough cash stashed I'll go around there and see what kind of deal I can get. I'm still not sure whether I want to go with the Cummins or the International. A member of the Pennsylvania Chapter works in association with Ford on their diesels. Paul Freda of Blue Diamond Parts LLC, A Ford Motor Company/International Truck Engine Corporation Joint Venture.
I'm limited to what I can do physically so I'll have to enlist others help when I do start the project. Maybe when your done you can hook up with SteveBricks and come out to the annual Mid-Atlantic meet at the All Truck Nationals in Carlisle, Pa. to show off your handy work. I'm sure the truck lovers there would really appreciate the work your doing.

Hey Joe...
I would love to head out that way when she is done..... the wife is saying ya right now! LOL.
The Bronco sounds like a nice project! I have always been a fan of the early Broncos. Depending on your goals with that project... I like the idea of a 4BT for Broncos and Jeeps! You can get 300+ HP out of a 4BT fairly easily, liller torque and great fuel mileage!
Anyway.... good luck with your project and I'll be looking forward to seeing it begin!
Just got off graves this morning..... took a nap, had some lunch with the little woman, took her for a country ride on the Harley, came home and started working on that hydraulic clutch.
As suspected that firewall needed some reinforcement! I also found my peddle stroke to be too short for my liking. So I decided to pull the whole assembly out and build it as a stand alone solution and then bolt back to the firewall.
