I must have a heavier foot.

My '06 SCrew FX4 with the 3.73 gears has never gotten over 13 mpg, anywhere, anytime. I'm still running the factory Pirelli 20's.

My old '03 SCrew 4x4 with the same gears used to get 17-18 highway, but they're lighter.

my mileage varies between 14.2 and 14.8 in the city depending on how i drive it and how cold it is outside. I don't do enough highway trips with this to have gotten a full tank in on the hwy. guessing about 18-19.

haha, worth a shot I actually hate the big wheel idea for trucks in general... I wish you could put 15" wheels and big ol' donut shaped tires on these trucks; i love that look on jeeps/broncos/older f150s...

stupid big *** brakes and new bolt pattern

My 04 screw with leveling kit, 20" rims and 33" tires got 14-15 in town and 17 on the highway. My 06 screw with 6" lift, 20" rims and 35" tires gets 11-12 in town and 15 on the highway if I take it easy on the pedal. I am running a predator programed for 91 octane.

I
drove it on a 100 mile trip w/out a/c and cruise between 50-55 with light acceleration and got 24.6 MPG!
With a/c and decent acceleration doing 60mph it can get 20 without much trouble.
It is a 5.4 screw lariat 4x4 with 3.73 gears.

what, were you driving downhill from Mt. Everest. I am a bit unsure that you got almost 25mpg with the 5.4 unless you had a major wind behind you. I have never got better then 19.1 on a very easy highway ride. I think you may have got your tank size mixed up or something.

How are you unsure what I got.
I know what I got......

I used the gauge in the dash for the MPG check for that trip.
The gauge does give correct numbers, b/c I have hand calculated it countless times.

I accelerated slower than a grandpa and set cruise around 50-55 mph without A/C

I have also gotten 22.5 mpgs w/ some use of A/C and doing 55-60 on the same trip.

I have noticed, this truck gets great mileage compaired to others, and the only thing I can think of is.... how it was broke in.
It was bought used when it was 1.5 years old with a little over 60,000 miles.
Obviously those miles had to be hwy, so the truck became use to hwy trips(and broke in for them).

I have also noticed that the people that have been towing often with there trucks since new get better mileage when towing that I do. I am a VERY gas consious driver. My uncle has a 04 FX4. He has towed the same things I have and with a lot faster acceleration and gets a little better MPG than me, but he doesn't get anymore than 18 mpgs on the hwy do to his driving style.

I recently ran a 600m trip and got 18 both ways. But I think it could be a touch more, because of the bigger tires I actually run a few extra miles more than my odo will read. Whatever, much better than my old '72 390 getting 10 on the highway.

06 screw w/ 5.4 & 3.73

14ish city

17-23 highway- depending on speed & weather. Usually less than 19.

Just got back from Tahoe Monday night- 17.8 mpg w/ 480+ miles in 3 days, mostly highway w/ approx 20,000' of climbing(I have an altimeter), cruise set around 70, running A/C about 40% of the time(temps ranged from 25-80).

Twice this year, running down to the Pinnacles NP and back(270 miles round trip) I've gotten above 20. The second time, driving for milage, the gauge showed 23.3.

I've noticed this truck gets slightly better Highway and slightly worse city than my 01 supercab (about 1 mpg).
