1987 F-150 paint....From 2- tone to solid color

I would like to paint the areas that are tan on my truck the stock alpine green of the rest of the truck. I also have a lund visor for the front that I would like painted to match and i will be painting the tailgate. How mush paint will be needed and what should I do to prep this for paint. I would like to take this to a body shop only to be sprayed. I live only down the street from local body shop.

Does your truck have a 2 coat system or single coat? 2 coat color/clear are more expensive and are a lot more durable than single coat systems.

In most cases you need to scuff the top coat with 600wet. Most prefer spraying a sealer then the color. Contact the body shop and see what they want done. The problem may be blending the top line. You have chrome that needs to be removed. I would probably opt to paint the whole truck so I know I have single color.

Paint prices vary greatly depending on what is used. To paint the whole truck 1 gal color. Just to the tan may only take a qt.
