that's not a problem - your truck is just warming up. It deliberatly doesnt shift up tothe gear it could be in so that your fluids will get to the proper temperature faster.
If you were to ride in our trucks, you would agree that there's a problem. After the second big CLUNK and BUCK, you know its not normal!!
on edit: the PCM won't do that until its below 23*F outside or colder. it was 34F this morning and it shifted normally.
sorry, from your description of the problem it sounded normal. When I tow early in he morning, about 38*, the truck won't shift into o/d. No problem for me I just drive till it warms a bit. As soon as the trans warms up it shifts up. Sorry for putting in my .02
