Going to look at an engine...what to look for?

So a guy a couple of hours down the road supposedly has a '69 351W for sale. I am going to head down there this Sunday to take a look at it. He said that it is already torn down.

What should I look for? Are there known "problem spots" with these motors that I need to investigate? Any input would be helpful.

Thanks.

sucks it's already torn down....I'd find one all together, then you know you got to all.

Bring your vernier calipers to check bore size, look very carefully for cracks in the heads especially near exhaust valves, although this is rare. If you can borrow a straight edge you can check the heads for flatness, although they are usually okay as well. Look out for excessively milled heads and decks and intake.
Make sure the main caps are with it!
Well I guess just take your time and carefully examine all the parts, count all the head bolts and rods and rod caps, and such. One missing head bolt can be a pain to replace. Oh, and look out for stripped threads.
