Is it possible to get a Banks Ottomind chip from a 96 auto (NAW4) reprogrammed to run in a 97 manual (MLE1)? We would like to use it in my father-in-laws truck and the chip was free.

 

yup, call banks to get it done, not sure on the price

 

yeah they will reprogram it for you. You just need to have the computer calibration code for them which you already know. so your good to go

 

Thanks for the replies. I called Banks and they didn't seem too interested in talking to me because I wasn't buying new stuff. I got the receptionist, then a sales rep, then back to the receptionist, and she gave me an email address to write to.

 

Thats why none of us support Banks power products. They are a bunch of greezy folks that take your money and dont care to help you out should a problem arise. i think you better tell them you wanna talk to the tech department next time you call. They shouldn't give you the run around as much as some dim-witted receptionist who has no idea what diesel performance is, did. Best of luck

That doesn't sound at all like the service I got. I found their service to be pretty good. They reprogrammed my chip for $30 including return shipping. The chip was out of my truck for less than a week. Hope you have better luck w/ the tech dept.
