1971 360 oil pan

The motor is in my truck now. I noticed that the oil pan looks to be in backwards. The deep part is forward and the drain plug looks to impossible to get to due to too close a proximity to the frame cross member. Are there after market oil pans with the deep part in the "correct spot" and the drain plug reachable?

The sump is supposed to be in the front I don't know of a pan that has it in the back. Ford just had to put the drain plug in the back above the crossmember didn't they? That is how the 352 pan is in mine. Fold some cardboard to carry the oil into a pan when you change it or you could leave it on for lubrication.

Is there any harm in putting one of those in my 2wd?

I hear they don't clear the crossmember in the 2WD's.
