1951-1952 bed/fenders
I have a bed and fenders from a '52 F1 that I am going to be selling soon. I was wondering what a good asking price is for this since I usually don't dabble in the post '47 stuff. The fenders have very little denting, and very little surface rust, the bed is complete, including good tailgate, with a small spot of rust through on bedside between cab and fender, panels are nearly perfect straight. What should i ask for this setup? Just want to make sure I get what it is worth.

Do you have any pics of the bed and fenders. I don't like to try to price other people's parts but if they are in good shape like you say then they should bring pretty good money. Honestly you could take it apart and sell it piece by piece and get more money out of it as a whole bed. Just b/c of the shipping on it. Do you have any pics you could show.

In my experience, any 48-52 fender in good condition would bring $150-200 each. Each bedside, if straight and rust free, $50-100 each. Front bed header panel, up to $50. Good to very good tailgate, $150-200. All of the bed supports and rear bed rail, up to $50 for the set.
I've parted out a few beds and have sold them this way to make more $$$.
Unless you can find a local buyer for $500-750, then it would be the best way. Think about how much time you'll spend stripping the bed apart. Then you have to package and ship it.
There has been a local guy selling a 48-50 bed (that was a trailer and barely used) for $500. It's complete and 95% rust free.
By the way, the 51/52 beds are being reproduced, but at a price of $1500. So, the 48-50 beds are actually in more of a demand.
I think that $500-750 for the bed is a good price. Keep in mind that shipping it across the country would kill the deal unless the buyer really wants it. It'll probably cost more than the price of the bed to ship it (and again, you'd need to find a pallet large enough to put the bed on and then strap it down).
Just my 2 cents...

Thanks guys, a bit more than I figured on price. Unfortunatly, right now i have no pix of the parts. It's all locked up in a storage garage on a '46 I bought several years ago. I am going to try and post them up on the local ads, try and get somebody to pick them up. All I can say is that they have almost no surface rust, and a pretty clean. Thanks again, this is an eye opener here.
