5k mod still the thing to do?

I went away from stock changing out my air filter to the tymar copycat. man is it great to hear the turbo whine. So now I am thinking about the 5k mod. It has been a while since i have seen anybody talk about it. any side effects?

check out my post about the 20k. i just did the 22k today and i'm fixing to post up my results on it, so the thread should be towards the top of the list momentarily. it is better to put the resistor inline instead of in the plug.

THere is a new way and better way. c00nhunterjoe here on this has tested this throughly he runs 14.6k inline(tapped directlyin the wire going to the computer). You can do a search for c00ns way but i'm sure he will be here to give you the link to info and photos.

By the way i just upgraded mine to 20k.gotta drive tomorrow.

i'm also curious- not only about the side effects, but about the benefits as well.

can you do this without a special chip or computer?

ok guys, this is how you do it. where you see the blue wire running into the IPR, cut it. then crimp a bullet terminal on there. use the opposite terminal on each side so that you can connect the two if you want to put it back stock. then get a resistor(10k,5.6k,etc) and double up the ends so you can crimp bullet terminals on it as well. put opposite ends on the resistor so that you can connect it to the terminals on the blue wire. connect the resistor to the blue wire, start the truck, rev it up a few times to watch the black smoke come out the stacks, then take 'er for a test drive. that's all there is to it. if you want pics or have anymore questions, let me know.
