Going to Detroit Auto Show

I just found out that my dad and I are going to NAIAS (north american international autoshow). I am so happy. Has anybody else ever been there, what are other good things to do in Detroit, good restruants, and is it actually worth it, what else is there to do in or around the area, and how is the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn?

I love going to fishbones after I go to car show. Its a bit pricey, but they always have some good food.
Its like... neworleans and detroit mixed i think is how i'd describe it.

The waterfall doesn't appear to be working however from my friends going there recently.
If you go to fishbones, then you'll see the waterfall i'm talking about, maybe it will be on when you go.

There is always greek town too, its just mostly a casino now, but there are still some good places to go in there and have a beer or shop.

the auto show is nice. get to see all the new toys that you wont be able to buy for about 10 more years, lol(well at least thats my case). but yes i would have to agree with talyn, fishbones is a great place to eat. imo for the quality of food you get at fishbones the price is reasonable. there are alot of great things to do in detroit, just have to search for them a little bit.

The auto show is at Cobo, you should hop on the People Mover and get off in Greek Town from there you can check out lots of great places to eat, shop etc... The People Mover takes you by GM's head quarters, they usually have a nice display of a lot of the vehicles they have built in the past. Do a internet search for things to do in Detroit you will be amazed what you will find.

Have a great time....

Just be prepared for the weather. Just like Washington it can change quickly. Be sure to bring a good camera. You'll see concept cars, and the full lineup of vehicles from all manufacturers which some you might not have heard of.

before greek town was a casino, and we went to the autoshow, we would park at greek town, and take the people mover to the show, and then come back.
I was pretty small. I think the indians baught it when i was about... 8?
Anyways, its still an okay place to go, just, it lost a lot of its culture. Thanks indians and your gambleing casino ways!

I just got back from a quick trip south to pick up a few toys. Truckers were talking on the cb about not needing a passpot until 09.
