Someone told me the vin is too a 4x4 but this is a 2x4 truck.
You typed this VIN in the wrong forum, this forum is for 1967/72.

Super Cabs introduced in 1974.

X25 = F250 2WD Super Cab Pickup (X26 = F250 4WD Super Cab Pickup).

S = 400 2V

K = Kansas City MO Assembly Plant.

Y95361 = 1977.

thinkbink, Look on the left side of the forum home page, one line above where it says"Threads in forum". You'll see "Start a new thread" BUTTON.

Smile Need help Decoding Vin #

I've read and read, but can't decode the vin now that I've found vin plate . *98RC*496514*LOU
We basically are starting with the shell of the cab...
We think we have a 1949 Ford F1 truck, don't have the bed, column shift...
What does the vin# mean to you experts?
The color was in the light green family, but we have mainly rust.
Hope I've posted in the correct thread to get help.
I'm my husband's wife
Thanks!

You typed this request in the wrong forum, this is 1967/72, you want 1961/66.

VIN only decodes to this: F10 = F100 2WD / A = 240 1V I-6 / R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant / 791578 = 1966.

Other codes and etc. stamped on the Warranty Plate (riveted to the left door face below the latch). Post of pic of it.

tvliftcabinet: Pic doesn't appear when post is quoted, so I had to type the info. The angle of the pic makes the Warranty Plate hard to read.

WB: 129 / COLOR: 8 / MODEL: F100 / BODY: 481 / TRANS: F / AXLE: 09 / MAX GVW LBS: 05000 / CERT NET HP: 129 / RPM: 4000 / DSO: 74

129" Wheelbase.

8 = Springtime Yellow.

F100 2WD .. 5,000 lbs. GVWR

481: 4 = Medium Beige Crush Vinyl & Medium Beige Wicker Pattern Vinyl // 81 = 81A Standard Cab.

F = Borg-Warner T-18 4 Speed Manual Transmission.

09 = Ford 9" Rear Axle / 3.70-1 / 3,300 lbs. Axle Capacity.

5,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

129 net HP @ 4,000 RPM

74 = Seattle WA Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

Please do not type any additional threads for your '66 F100 in this 1967/72 forum.
