Cylinder Heads....which one's

I have two different sets of heads for a 360/390 and I was wondering if anybody can tell me what the specs are on them and which one's would be better.
one set has a casting of D2TE-AA
the other set is C3AE
Also, The C3AE heads came with adjustable rocker arms. Are these rockers interchangeable between the two

The D2TE-A heads are common heads that were used from 1972 until 1976 in trucks with 360, 390, and 428 engines. 68.1 to 71.1cc chambers, and 2.02" intakes and 1.55" exhaust valves.

The C3AE number is incomplete. Look at the heads again and read on both sides of the spark plug. The number should be something like C3AE 6090 with another letter behind it. These are High Performance heads from either a 406 or a 427.

The rockers will interchange, but you'll need new pushrods. A standard FE uses rods with a ball on both ends. The adjustable rockers need rods with a ball and a cup.

Get back to us with the complete casting number of those C3AE heads. By the way, I can store those for you! :-)

I believe C3AE-C are ’63 406 heads but I can check that when I get home. The chambers will be much smaller than the D2TE-AA heads but the valves are the same size.

In addition to what Gary and Caleb wrote, the C3AE 6090 C heads are from the late 406cid 405hp tri-power. They also have 2.02" intakes and 1.55" exhaust valves.
