I have an 08' F350 SRW with about 15,000 miles on it. I'm having a serious problem with the brakes. The pedal has no resistance at all. With light pressure applied the pedal will depress almost to the floor. And of course the truck will not stop. You have to depress the pedal several inches then apply hard pressure for the truck to slow down. Now here's the tricky part. Once in a blue moon, I'll get lucky and when I start the truck, the brakes work perfect. I've taken the truck to the dealer twice for this problem. They give the same BS response that the computer isn't throwing codes. Is anyone else having this problem or have had it fixed?
I have noticed that the front brakes feel like they're doing all the work, I checked the back disk and the aren't rusty- but they're not shiney like the fronts.
Do you have adjustable pedals? I wonder if that has anything to do with this....I do.
ask them if they would rather the state police diagnose the prob after you rearend someone or worse.....keep your paperwork. sorry you paid 45-50k and thats the only answer you got.
My F250 '08 modedl did the same soft pedal thing a couple of times. I pressed down really hard on the pedal at a light waiting for green and it seems to have woke up the brakes. Got full hard pedal now. Have to wait and see.
I had a leak seen in the drivers front wheel well. Dealership replaced something they called mastercylinder/powersteering pump.... Sorry this is 2nd hand info from the mechanic through the wife to me.... My brakes didn't get as bad as yours are now but maybe I cought it early... Just a thought.... Good Luck, Greg
