new engine ordered for my 08
I talked to the service manager today and he said they have ordered the new engine for my SD.He said the regional manager ok'd an engine from the plant,I took it he meant from kentucky, so the engine would arrive in 3 or 4 days instead of 3 or 4 weeks if they had to get it from international. He said he would start to remove the one in the truck a day or 2 before the new one arrives so he can speed up the process because they have already had the truck for 2 weeks. He thinks he can have the truck ready in a week if every thing goes as planned.I hope he is correct because I am becoming impatient.I like this truck very much but this experience has been very trying.I have owned several ford trucks before 82,84,94,96,98,99,2000,2002,20003,and now this 08,and this is the only bad experience I have had.I may have been spoiled by all the other ford trucks

This is the first major issue with a 6.4 that I have heard about. 10 months since 08's have been on the road and that impresses me they are holding together this good! Much much better than the 6.0 and they are doing better than Cummins with they're 6.7 Bluetec. From what I am hearing, Cummins is going to recall all DPF Equipped 6.7's and reflash when they have a calibration with ACTIVE Regeneration since the PASSIVE is not working properly. PASSIVE is only really effective if you pull alot of loads and keep egt's up.

the truck has 3200 miles and it developed a pecking noise that started at about 1500rpm and seemed to go away at about 2000rpm.They first thought it might be injector problem, but changing them did not help,so they tried changing the crankshaft pully and that did not help so they ordered an engine.I have not talked to them in a couple of days so i do not know what they think it might be.
