I believe DearbornDerek has said a couple times that it will NOT look like the front end of the expeditions.

Since this is thread is active, when should we expect to officially see the new trucks design?

You can't fool me, I've seen the pictures. The new truck is going to look like vinyl with a whole lot of padding under it.

It is pretty obvious when your really study those spy shots the grill and headlights are different. Grill looks pretty close to something like the super duty, which I believe has been said before. One thing I did notice that is interesting is it appears the reports I saw about using stamped steel control arms instead of aluminum appear to be true, at least for that regular cab. Considering that is a talking point for Ford (and Mike Rowe) right now, what would make them change?

maybe i am wrong on this one but does anyone else think that this new truck will have the extended headlights like the superduty and the grill like the superduty...that the vinyl covering is covering more than you think?

and if any of the R&D guys can chime in, i don't want any critical details but was wondering, is the grill connected to the hood in the 09s?

I agree with gui88ford. When ford intoduced the Expy for the first time the next year the F150 was redesigned and looked like the Expy, then again in 03 when the Expy changed face the next year so did the F150. This year the Expy changed so I truly believe that the New face of the F150 will be close to that of the Expy. Chevy(sorry for the bad language) did the same thing with there avalances and pickups. I believe they introduce it on one before designing the other, kind of a "testing the water" thing. Anyway thats my thought.
