Interior Plastic Color Change?

I am sure that this has been covered before, but I couldn't find a specific product, or products, that are what I am looking for. I want to change the color of my blue door panels in my 1980 F-150. I also want to change the color of the parts of the dash that are blue. I am planning on getting a new dash cover for the top from Jeffs Bronco grave yard but the other stuff is in good shape and don't want to buy new stuff if I don't have to. Is there a paint or dye to do this? I want it to be black. Is there something my local parts house that would work well, such as Duplicolor products? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yep. You can pick up automotive plastic paints at most any auto parts store. Good thing you're going with black because the colors are rather limited.

I used the Duplicolor on my stepdaughters faded dash several years back and it still looks good today. Just make sure you clean the surface real well.

Thanks! I was hoping that it would work. I am glad to hear it works from someone who used it.

Eastwood carries a kit for painting plastic and/or vinyl and comes in several different colors, have not tried it.

Krylon Fusion. Lots of colors and it molecularly bonds to the plastic. I used it on the plastics on my sportbike and it work incredibly. If it's plastic I'll use that instead of breaking out my airbrush and HOK paint.

I ended up using the Krylon Fusion paint and it worked very well. I am very pleased with the results so far. I am just waiting till it gets real cold or real hot to see how it holds up to the temperature extremes. The best part is here in Southwestern PA you can have both temperature extremes in just a few days!

SEM Interior Paint
Renew or change the color of your vinyl upholstery and plastic surfaces - permanently. Flexible enough for seats, yet tough enough for vinyl tops. For optimum results and adhesion, use Plastic Prep and Sand Free-Kit on hard plastics, and Vinyl Prep on vinyl. And it's dishwasher safe. I tried it.
