Madden voyage of S.S. f250 (she sank)
i finally got every thing done on my 73 to 76 eng swap. and decided to drive her to work on Thursday she did good in the am. she was running a little lean so had friend come on lunch and adjust the carb. than she ran even better . drove her to pick up the misses ran fine, after that we heading up the hill out of branson she fell flat on her face almost complete power lose. i limp on out to branson west where i found i nice well light spot at oreillys auto parts and left her for the night. Saturday went to find out what was wrong she fired right up and drove home with no trouble.
i have tested the control module.
some one said it might be the pick up.
i think that it is a fuel problem. the Carb is crap, need to find some one to rebuild the other one i have.
any thoughts?

Hey Dude I work with a guy that has a buddy that is a carb, and transmission master. I rode in this guy's 69 F250 that he did the engine and tranny yesterday. I actually said for the first time in my life. "That's enough man"
We each work in Strafford. I'll se him this evening, he wants to look at the 5" stacks I had put in the bed of my 79. I'll get an idea what he might charge.

I started working on the truck again. i fixed the dizzy being one tooth off. The truck seamed to run real good. next i moved on to the coil. when changing the coil i found the the condenser wire was crack and about to brake. and it did. Is this some thing that could make the truck run bad, if it was grounding out?
what is the condenser for, and can i run the truck with out it?
i will wait untill Monday to change the carb.

If the ignition control wires ground out you will have power loss as the signals aren't getting across. Buddy of mine had an 85 Mustang like mine and when he would launch it real hard the wires would make contact with the inner fender and short out the ignition causing the car to stall. By the heading of the thread I thought you took your truck swimming LOL! Friend of mine just did that with his '99 F250 LD truck about 2 months ago.....rolled into his dads big pond.....it didn't float very well.
