rear main bearing cap

I'm changing the rear main seal in a '65 352 with the engine in the truck. I was wondering if there are any tricks to removing the bearing cap. I can't seam to get it loose. Also I found some plastic pieces in my oil pan, I'm pretty sure they are from the camshaft sprocket. Is this common. Whats the best replacement?
Thanks

Travis.

On the rear main cap, use a pair of large screwdrivers to pry the cap back and forth using the crankshaft as leverage.

The plastic in the pan-if it's white/cream colored, it's possibly from the camshaft gear. If it's black, it's possibly just your valve stem seals.
