Cruise Control Servo Interchangability? (84 F250)
Hi. Does anyone know if the Cruise Control Servo (the part under the hood that actually has the cable that runs to the Injection Pump) for a DIESEL is the same as for a gas model?
I have an 1984 F250 Diesel 4x4 with an Auto trans and my Cruise Control servo has a busted cable (metal cable broke inside of plastic sheath) and I would like to replace it. I see all kinds of servos at the local junk yard but they are for a variety of gas engines. I would like to know if I could use one of those on a DIESEL engine or not. Does anyone have any first hand experience on this?
Thanks in advance.

Both my 1986 trucks seem to have the exact same servo (5.0 and 6.9 diesel). Indeed my sisters ranger (1988) also seems to have the same unit. The only difference I have seen so far for that era of ford trucks, is the length of the cable. Just bring the old one with you to make sure its the same dimentions, but other than that, it should be plug & play.
