MM&FF are idiots. That 7.0L experimental is a Hurricane/Boss engineering exercise codenamed 777 for 7.0L, 700 hp @ 7,000 rpm. Apparently it must make over 700 hp on E85.

SOHC, 2V, 2 spark plugs per cylinder. You can find better pictures of the engine in Don Bowles car on the 'net. You'll see it has a Modular style timing chain cover, a dead giveaway for overhead camshafts. Also note how far back the #1 and #5 intake runners sit from the front of the engine. Does MM&FF really believe Ford just wasted all of that space for no reason?

The video gives a better idea: http://www.nmratv.com/index.php?playlist=1

Regardless of what "type" of motor it is, lets hope we actually see it put into production.

I would imagine it would be de-tuned somewhat for production but a 700 hp F150 would get the job done...

It's essentially a big bore version of what we'll see (6.2) in the F150. It should make 425 hp in the F150.

Blue II on BOF says there is a "TwinForce" 6.2L (DOHC, 4V, direct injection, twin turbo) that has made over 650 lbftf in testing and will get gas mileage on par with a 5.0L range V8.

The 777 is essentially a big bore version of the 6.2 we'll see in the 2009.5 F150 which should make ~425 hp.

Blue II on BOF informed us that a "TwinForce" 6.2 has made over 650 ftlbf in testing and gets gas mileage on par with a 5.0L range n/a V8.

Would you be interesed in a DOHC 4V, GDI, TT Boss 6.2 that makes 650 ftlbf and gets around 20 mpg hwy EPA?
