Changing Rear Differential Fluid

My 2wd 1985 F-150 has NEVER had the rear differential fluid changed. It has over 170K miles, and I was wondering if it would be wise to change it now, or is it too late and should I leave it alone?

It's never too late. But if you decide not to pull the cover to drain it, at least remove the plug and make sure it's topped off.

change it now! juist because you go over on your engine oil change doesnt meen you wait another 3000! If you have a limited slip dont forget the friction modifier. I use regular 75-90 gear oil.
