Lightbulb Best Outdoor Spots in Washington

Thought it would be a great idea for each of us to share our favorite outdoor spots in the state. It would not only give other members some ideas for vacation or travel, but would give visitors an idea about some of the beautiful areas our state has to offer.

Pics and links in your post would be great. Also don't forget to state which part of the state.

Cresent Lake

I will start with Cresent Lake. Very beautifil lake. They have the old steamboats on the lake each year, and a very nice lodge. http://foreverlodging.com/destinatio...PropertyKey=70

Not a far drive from Port Angeles, or the coast.

I will just sum it all up, The whole state is a great spot. I prefer a place in the Olympics, and any spot along the Columbia River. Then there is the North Cascades. Too many choices.

I live in the epitome of the perfect place, a mile from the beach and fresh clams, 1/2 mile from Williapa Bay and fresh Oysters, 15 miles from the Columbia (need I say more), 30 miles to the coastal range, and a beach you can still drive on any time you want. Life doesn't get any better than that.

Liz, my wife is asking if we can come live with you-
For a nice drive, I like running around the Seabeck area, or any number of backroads in the Northern Cascades.
Other than that, a place populated only by trees.

Ha! Ha!! Sorry, Mike!! It's the south east face of Mt Adams. St Helens is just out of view on the other side of it.

Jared ~ Come on down. This is a great place to raise kids!!

The San Juan Islands and the Coastline in the northwest are beautiful, and with your own boat makes it better. There are many coves to moor in to sleep for the night and marinas for petrol. Hike the islands and climb the coast cliffs. Good but not great salt-water fishing, clamming and crabbing.

I think the aroma of Tacoma is something worth taking in. It used to be awful but now it is almost tolerable to drive fast thru that quaint little burb.

Or perhaps take a stroll through white center if your looking to get in shape for a marathon. Take a gun with you if your not up for the tuff course.

Or if you like looking for rusty old used up needles take in the sites of pill hill in seattle. Even china town has their fair share of tweekers that will loan you their needles.

And don't forget to take in the local street dwellers down town near pioneer square, if you get there early in the morning you might be able to catch the indigenous people taking a leak while laying down on a park bench.
