Vibration at high speeds
Hello all,
I purchased a 2003 F-150 Screw a few months back. Within a week I noticed a noise that sounded like a bad ujoint. To it to a shop and they confirmed it. They told me they replaced both. I only drive about 4 miles to work around 40 mph. Friday I had to go out of town and this was the trucks 1st road trip. I noticed that around 55 the truck feels fine. At 65 there is a shake / vibration. At 75 it is very noticable. At 1st I though front end, but after a few hour I noticed the feeling can be felt in the seat of my pants type of thing. Or my foot on the kicker panel. Truck has 27K on it. Any thoughts?
Thanks

First things I'd check:
Tires. Aggressive tread and high load rated tires sometime get wild at high speeds.
Wheel balance. Sometimes you lose a weight and it doesn't become noticeable till high speeds. Also you can ask for double balancing, where they balance it then spin it again and fine tune by adding more weights.

Thanks,
The tires are still the factory ones and look to be in good shape. I thought maybe they did not change both ujoints so I took a look. They are both new. I did notice the weights they used are something I have never scene before. Look like peel and stick....... I just can't see that holding up.
