Rear Brake Shoes

Rear Brake Shoes
I have a rear end that I believe is out of a late 30's to early 40's Ford truck. The rear end is a full floater with 8 lug hubs. I am trying to find brake shoes for it. It has 12" x 1.75" shoes. This rear end is in a homemade forklift that I got a great deal on. That is why I don't have any more info on it. I have been to three different local auto parts stores and they can find them in the Raybestos catalog, but their suppliers all say they are obsolete according to Raybestos. Does anyone have any other suppliers that I could look into?

Anyone -- did Ford make an 8 lug before '48? I know that starting in '48 the F2 had an 8 lug pattern rear that had a split housing.
I don't really have any sources there either, but if it is newer than you are thinking it might be easier to find. If not I would check locally for someone that relines brakes, I think some of the commercial truck places do that sort of thing. Remember that is about all that Raybestos does when they get the cores, they just clean them up varnish and reline.
