What is or how do I rig up something to work the fold/scope function that can reverse polarity?

What have you guys done?

We include in our kit 2 additional switches to allow you to change from Fold/Extend and the second switch to move in or out for either position.

Function over form on these. I personally don't like the way they look, but if they help in visibility that is what really matters.

I didn't like them either. Took me 3 months to finally order them. Now that they're on, I'm pleased with them both functionally and asthetically.

So it is possible to put the power fold/telescope mirrors on the older Super-Duties and Excursions?

Is textured black plastic the only option on the front cover, or is a smooth paintable version available? I have only about 1/2 inch clearance on either side of my garage door so I'd love the power fold option, but have grown to love the KR painted fronts on my mirrors.

Yes. The kit we sell has the extra switches you need to use the powerfold/extend.

You can get the optional painted covers, but only with the mirrors that are designed for it. They run about 250 more than the textured ones, and you can paint to match.

What do the swithches look like, I'd like to keep it looking as stock as possible.
Are they the switches that the 08's come with to fold/telescope.

Nope, the OEM switches from the 08 will set you back about 250 and they do not match any of the previous trucks, w/o making some major changes.

The switches we provide are 2 Black rocker switches that fit on the cover under the steering wheel.

This switch has the folding function on it, if you pull backwards the mirrors fold, its from an 08, since the 05-07s have the same style switch but without the folding function this would fit. How could I wire the switch to fold the mirrors using this switch. If this won't work could I use the upfitter switches the 05-07s came with.
Thanks

There is a lot more work than what you see in the picture.

The switches from the 08 will not fit our current door panel or any where else. They need the mount you see, which in turn requires a whole new door panel, unless you can customize something to make them fit.

In addition you need both switches for these functions to work, as well as the complete door harness with the relay box assembly. None of your existing wiring can support it.

I have messed around with the wiring, but once I saw what all is required to make it work, I gave up on it due to time constraints and cost. I can get all the parts.

This is the mirror switch from the 05-07s, the 08s probably fit.
And if all else fails could I use the upfitter switches to operate the power fold/telescope features.

They will not fit when I looked at it. Not enough room. Upfitter switches will not allow you to reverse polarity. you also a whole new harness
