Dunno, what's your engine/tranny setup. If it's lighter duty like a 302 or a 300 then definitely no. The real question here is not HP, but torque. Without engine/tranny numbers I couldn't tell you either way though.

well, if it's a powerstroke with a stock dual mass flywheel, then i would go ahead and change it out now to a single mass flywheel and clutch. then your clutch will hold to about 300hp. that is about all the stockers can hold up to. if you want a clutch to hold 500hp call Dan Vallance at Valair clutch and he can set you up with a clutch for that.

Yeah I'm thinking around 300 Hp, which should be about 500 to 600 Ft. Lbs of torque. That's about max. Makes you think about those tuners in a new way.

I have a 7.3 and it would hold an extra 75 HP put that was about it.

The stock clutch will not hold 500 hp. You need to upgrade once you get past the 80hp tune.

Oh yea I forgot about this thread.I put a south bend fb-8 in and am very happy with it. Its a little grabby and takes some getting used to but hooks up without slippage every time.
