Would roush be the best option for blowers? Or is there another company out there that is a lil be less expensive cause it doesn't have the roush name?

Probably a good idea to ask in the supercharger section.

Ok Ken. One Question. What do i do when i tow my car trailer? won't the injector timing, ignition timing, shift points..etc need to be different from a performance setting ? Does Roush have seperate programs for what you are doing with the truck? It would be nice to be able to tow AND have performance...just in case you run upon a TUNDRA at a stop;ight..ya know? Still a kid at heart after all these years!! Joe

No, Roush does not have seperate programs. You send them your PCM, the send it back with their program. Its one size fits all. If you want multiple programs, and more power you need an after-market programmer from an experienced tuner, preferably on a dyno for the Roushcharger.

I found a supercharger called the power works, I also found an old thread on here about it with a dyno graph. It is about $1000 cheaper than the roush. I to am looking to supercharge my new 2007 F150 FX4 this winter.

Ken. Do you think the Roush program would be compatible with pulling my car trailer? It does require premium fuel all the time...correct? Thankyou for all your helpful info so far.

I would take the factorying towing number and cut it in half as the safe tow limit. Unless you datalog the truck while towing, with a wide band O2 attached (though Roush's tune is very good with A/F ratios), you will not know how much more you can tow, so half the factory number is a good safe margin.

Cut the weight i can tow in 1/2? Heck..then i will not even be able to tow my open cartrailer. I beleive the weight limit is somewhere around 6-7000 lbs. Need to find my brochure. If i had to cut it in 1/2...THAT would make the blower useless to me!! If i understood what you meant right???

You misunderstood. As a generalization, you take the factory tow limit (9K-11K depending on your truck's configuration) and cut that in half when you add the blower (actually, a little more than half)

For instance, if the stock rating is 10K, I'd limit the towing to about 6K lbs. especially in the summer or on steep terrain.

It would seem to me that if there are plug problems (blowing out) that a supercharger would only enhance the problem! more air, more power, more compression, more pressure! Is this true? It would seem to me that it would hurt the reliability.

There are no plug blow out problems with the 3v motors.
