Water in Fuel Light

Water in Fuel Light
I am having an issue with the Water in the fuel light. In the past this light comes on I have simply drained the HCFM fuel filter and all was fine. This week the light came on and I drained the filter and the light is remaining on. I have drained it three times in as many days and the light may go off for a few minutes of driving then comes back on.
Is this a case of a bad tank of diesel and I jsut need to add some drying additive and run it out or is there some malfunction with the sensor? Also The filter was changed about 3 months (6,000 miles) back and I had not had any other problems.
I would appreciate any guidance on this issue.
Thanks, John

check the service bulletions ..there is a one on the WIF. The sensor becomes corroded ..they just replace the HCFM and solves the problem.
I had the same problem in my 2005. I drained the HCFM..let it air for a half hour then took paper towels and cleaned the inside of it and then put a new filter back in there. Started the truck up and let it run..but the WIF was still lit..so i disconnected the batteries for 10 mins and hooked them back up..NO MORE PROBLEMS.
