its a 63, and runs alright. alittle rusty, and the side windows/doors need help.

anyways, its really fun to drive, and gets stares everywhere i go. im thinkin about swapping a v8 into it this winter, and taking it to the track next summer. any pointers? tips? good spots to look on the internet about the swap?

thanks,

Just finished a V8 swap in a 65 pickup. Put it off almost a year while I checked into the scheme of things. Went a lot easier then expected and if you think yours is fun now! The v8 makes it even better. I realize the earlier E's are different motor mounts but the info is out there and if I can help I've been taking pictures of the mods as I accomplished them.

Been awhile. lol This 6cyl motor runs so good, I am having second thoughts about swapping to a V8. While working on it today, I noticed that the exhaust manifold is cracked in half.

Any of you dudes know where to source this part?

It's very common for the exhaust manifolds to crack on 144 & 170 engines = very common,

C2GZ9430A .. Exhaust Manifold = REPRODUCED / Available from dearbornclassics.com / online catalog, page 155 / part number EMA100.

Fits: 1961/64 Econoline / 1960/62 Falcon/Comet / 1962 Fairlane/Meteor
---------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: 1965/67 Econolines with a 170 use a different manifold. It will not fit the earlier models.

The cars with 170's & 200's use a different manifold than the ones mentioned above after 1962, it will not fit any of the Econolines.

Hey Jed, you can find a bunch of info about Falcons and Rancheros on the Fordmuscle.com website. Check the forums for the Falcon forum and there's tons of guys who have done what you want to do to it.

I've got a 64 Falcon Convert with a 289, Toploader, and 9 " rear.
