I drove to Chicago and back to see my new (and only) nephew that will pass on the family name. I thought it was a pretty good reason to drive 9 hours round trip.

I'm around... getting ready to get in the fields. Looks like another week or so, at least. I'm back working in town nights, too, so I don't get all the computer time I'd like, but everytime I do get on, I check out FTE and see what's shaking in the Hawkeye State chapter.

Glad to see there is some life still kickin
So sounds like everyone is busy anyway so fill in what I am doing if you have noticed I am basically getting out of mud racing but since I couldn't seem to get the ranger sold started getting ready cleaning off ALL the dirt, and have a set of slicks a friend lent to me to try out and going to try and take it up to Newton to the speedway and see what this critter will do in the 1/8th mile.

Tenants are actually doing beans before the corn here, the beans dried up quick and early, a lot of corn being done as well.

Don't have a lotta beans out this year, and the one's we do have got put in late, so they'll wait. I figure with the corn, the longer it can dry down in the fields, the better for the bottom line. I've opened up the fields and am all set to go... and trust me, I've got the fever to go. I'm thinking that maybe towards the end of the week I can start hitting it hard.

You have had a bit more rain thaan we have over this way I believe, we got real dry until the last few weeks, which is just when I don't want it, so that I can get the house finished up... held me out for a week getting the dirtwork done, then the septic and setting the house, now I need to trench the power line and water line, and it wants to keep trying to rain it out... been succeeding too.
