Aux lights and up-fitter switches
On my new 08 F-250, XLT, CC 6.4, 4X4, I have just mounted aux lites in the bumper where the oem fogs would go. So where in the stuffed underhood maze can I find a way to route the wires through the firewall to the relay for the switch? I printed the builder guide sheet from ford as to the wiring of the up-fitter switches but also how about a relay? the guide says the switches have a relay already. Also is there a foglite plug-in from the harness already there, just not being used (fogs not inc on mine)? I could use to wire in fogs when I mount them?

You might try pushing out the rubber plug that is used for the main wiring harness under the dash near the steering wheel and use a circular hand file to make a small hole for your wires along the edge of the existing hole. You then push the harness back in the place and have successfully worked the wires through without affecting the quiet of your cab. I used this technique for my CB antennae wire and it has worked great.

There are 4 wires already passed through the firewall for this purpose. They should be tied off under the dash behind the parking brake pedal and under the hood near the master cylinder.
The accessory switch wiring is located above the upfitters wiring on the left of the steering wheel under the dash. ( same basic location as on the previous models but the fuse panel has been moved to the passenger side of the vehicle)
Switch #1 is Yellow and 30 AMP
Switch #2 is Green with Brown trace and is 30 AMP
Switch #3 is Violet with a Green trace and is 10 Amp
Switch #4 is Brown and is 15 Amp
Green and White is the TRO-N
Green is the PTO RPM output
Yellow and green is the PTO
Blue with White is the PTO OK Signal
Blue is the CTO
Blue with Grey is the Park lamp output
Violet with Orange is the VS OUTPUT
Violet with Brown is the BCPSW
Violet is the IGNITION 10 Amp Fused
Grey with Violet is the PTO GROUND
White with Brown PTO V REFERENCE
Brown is the BCHPL
This is the main outfitter harness. There are 4 other wires located with these. They are the traditional 4 wires that run to under the hood for wiring addditions.

So how do we hook up the main power from the aux lites to the up-fitter switch? since the aux lites are grounded on the frame by the bumper and the relay is at the up-sw- do we just run the main line from the lites to the up-Switch by the relay? ? Is the relay at the up -sw already grounded. Can I use one of the wires (haven't found yet) that comes through the firewall--which one would be for the #2 switch? I asure can't go to the dealer for a service, it would cost 3 times more than the lites. Actually they look good in the bumper at the oem location. Just removed the rubber filler panel.

The upfitter wires do not come out under the hood, only behind the fuse panel under the dash.
There are 4 extra wires that come out under the hood, they are pass thru wires. You will find the other end of them behind the fuse panel. You can hook up your upfitter wires to any of these wires behind the fuse panel then hook your + lead from your lights to the end of the same wire where it comes out under the hood.

Okay here is a question on up fitter switches, i have four sets of lights mounted up front. All piaa, 580, 540, 520, 510. i just added the fourth set, and conneted them to switch four. Only when i connect something to that switch will it knock out or not allow the light on switch two. I was thinking a relay problem, but as soon as un plug swith four and the fours set, set two on switch two work.
need help figuring this one out.
