Well my service manager sent me the pictures of the two coolers... The supercooler (536 is a 7 run cooler) and the regular cooler (5 runs).

Part #'s Supercooler: 7L12-7A095-B
Part # for Reg cooler: 7A095-A

Hope that helps...Looks like we have the bigger of the two on our 536 package.

I'm not sure how to put the PDF up on the sight for all to see.

this is larger than some I've seen similarly that were 8"-12 " wide.

so I'm thinking the width of the unit is making up for an 11 row cooler that is not as wide as this one. also, being a wider/longer design keeps the fluid in the airstream just a bit longer allowing for more disipation of heat.

however, if in fact we should have 11 rows, I'll be next in line to get mine.
I'm hoping this it the case that the referenced PDF spec sheet was pre-production, and the cooler is now wider then before.

Without starting another thread, what is the difference in the radiators? Per the PDF spec sheet again, the 536 Heavy Duty tow has a "Radiator Upgrade". Anyone happen to know what the upgrade is?

I assume a larger radiator or more rows in the core...I plan to make a little pit stop at the dealer and do some checking...

I got a chance to check out a non Heavy tow expedition (08) and it only has a 5 row vs. our 7 row setup...so I guess I am ok with the set up.

Most of the literature has a disclaimer that parts may change at any time. The 2007/2008 were much cheaper than the previous years. They had to cut costs somewhere and with the 6 speed tranny, they may have not needed that large of cooler, not sure.

just got our 08, it's a huge cooler, much bigger then my old 5.4 f-150 with the tow package, i like how wide it is, should cool the fluid off real nice. I'd say it's more then enough.

Any details on the cooler width and row count?

Looks to be about 22" long and for a Heavy tow 7row non-heavy 5row. And it's a stacked plate type cooler.

Hmmm strange as my 08 seems to have only 6 rows that actually flow anything.

Here is the image of it.

You are correct. They go by the finned areas...your pic has 7 finned areas.

Oh, I am so glad to find this thread. I had a heck of a time w/ my dealer who told me the car could tow up to 9200lbs but the manual said 6000 unless I had the tow package. When digging into it I found my truck only had the standard package. Long story short I had them upgrade the radiator and transmission cooler on them. Then when I was looking at it I thought they never actually did the work because it was only a 7 row cooler and the PDF did say 11 for the upgrade. Needless to say my head was a little hot until I found this thread and it looks like I am all set there.

Anyway I was left me with the electrical work to do.

Sorry to cross post but if anyone as any insight on my wiring questions I posted a thread here earlier in the tow forum I would really appreciate it.

I just posed the 7 row vs. 11 row question again.

This information reassures my I have the right HD trans radiator.

This reply ought to make the information easier to find.

I have a late model 2008 Expedition - Built in June 2008

I came across this thread and have an update for those concerned. My Expedition has the 536 heavy duty towing package, but the transmission cooler is the 5 row ........ not 7 row.

I went back to the dealership and checked two other Expeditions with the heavy duty towing package, as well as two navigators and they all have the 5 row transmission cooler also.

I am assumiming Ford did not see the need for the larger 7 row unit???????

It's 5 row, but twice as long as the standard transmission radiator (or twice as thick, I forget which). I confirmed the part number some time ago.

I can't find a 7 row on a recent truck.
